Hello hello hello!
So its what…day 3? Its wendesday September 3, 2008 at 10 at night here. So I took a nap after sorting my life out and we all got up around 5. We went to the grocery store, which is smaller than a supermarcato. I bought pesto and 2 peaches. We came back I made gemilli pasta with pesto and we had some salad. After that we went to bar gelateria, where we thought Lorenzo worked, and I got chocolate and hazelnut gelato (delicious!). we sat on the steps of the duomo for a while and met a few other arcadia students. Came home to the apartment, facebooked and then skyped mom and gina! The apartment is so loud at all hours of the night. I went to bed and woke up so many times because the trash company came, people were driving crazy, and screaming in the streets, just yelling to each other I guess.
This morning I again ate yogurt and granola and we all went to Italian class. We have a week of intensive Italian classes, and our real classes start on September 10th. My class is so fun, and katy is in it! The professor only speaks in Italian and is quite funny. We had a three hour class with a 15 minute break. Afterwards, I met Kelley at the coop and bought tuna, peppers, and pre-sliced, healthy looking Italian bread. I made a salad with tuna and red peppers and we all ate together.I love how we all eat together, it's so comforting.
So then we rested a bit and I made coffee in our Italian coffee maker, which looked like mud and yet was still weak. Sara, katy, Kelley and I walked around to find the notebook store, which was conveniently closed for lunch. So we walked around the piazza, bought postcards and then went back to the apartment. We wrote our postcards and then went to our survival Italian class for an hour and a half, with the same class and teacher, which again was hysterical. We came back to the apartment and did our Italian homework. And by that point it was 6:30pm. So I went to the magazzini store and bought a binder, lined paper, dividers and two pens (which are really expensive for pens!). Then I flew to the fountain to meet the stonehill girls, sarah morales, Amanda kellet, sam ennis, Jessie ragnio, and lindsay k. we went to a place called ralkjasj;. I got a porkchop with some salad and tomatoes, and a few of us split this really great sparkling white wine. One of the servers, musafa, loved talking to us in Italian and English and offered us complimentary lemon sorbet that was drinkable, it was delicious! We planned a few trips and talked until 9pm! Now I'm at the apartment where me, my roommates, and katy are planning our 10 vacation (another exclamation point!).
Lorenzo texted Carson, so we decided to meet them at eden, me, sara, carson, alex, and katy. I had one peroni birra and we talked to lorenze, his cousin, his friend, and Antonio. The two new guys spoke very good English, but I enjoyed talking to Antonio because I could improve my Italian, as he is persistent on making us pronounce the words correctly. We got in around 12:30, and I was only up a few times during the night…I think I am already getting used to the Perugia citta' noise.
