Blog blog blog. I know you are all waiting around for my next post, and lingering on ever word I say, but I must admit that I am glad that in 4 weeks I will not have to blog again!
So Thursday night, after my American Foreign Policy class, I made dinner and took the 8:20pm train to Roma Termini. From there, Jeff directed me via telephone to the other train I had to take. He met me at the station, and we walked two blocks to his apartment where Jackie was sick in bed. It was almost midnight, so we just went to bed.
Friday morning, we didn't get up until like 11:30. When we finally did get out of the apartment, we walked to the Coliseum, which is still there, and still old. We saw some of the ruins and then had some lunch. Afterward, we ran into the Trevi fountain, where I threw in more coins in hopes that I would return to Italy for my fourth time and then the Pantheon. We rewarded ourselves with gelato…cappuccino and yogurt this time. We had seen enough for one day, and some Stonehill girls were expected to arrive at Jeff's apartment soon, so we headed back. I took a nap from 5 to 7. Then the three of us made dinner, salad, bruschetta, roasted peppers and onions, and chicken. We wanted to take it easy, so we bought candy and ate it while watching "Forgetting Sara Marshall"…which I fell asleep tp.
Saturday, again we didn't get up until almost noon. We stopped at a café where I got a cookie and a zaletti…some soft thing made with lots of egg and raisins. And at the second café that we sat at, I got a chocolate filled pastry and a caffe macchiato doppio…my fav. Then we headed to the Vatican. I had been in already, and didn't want to pay and wait in line, I just wanted to see st. peter's basilica again, so we did. And then I bought some stuff…clearly, including 2 pashminas for myself, considering I lost my first one! Then we walked all the way from there to the Spanish steps, my legs were about to fall off. We sat on the steps for a few minutes, and headed to lunch/dinner…the Hard Rock Café. Yes, I know my mother was livid to hear that I had eaten a burger and fries while in Rome, but let me tell you it was delicious and necessary. Back at the apartment, I catnapped, and got ready. The three of us, the stonehill girls and their friends, all went to the Spanish Steps pub crawl. Went to a few bars, got a few drinks, got a free t-shirt and crawled into bed at 2.
This morning, Sunday, I woke up around 10, and took a train back to Perugia. I missed the first one by like 3 seconds. So I waited in the rome train station by myself, people watching and drinking some coffee. And now that I have eaten dinner, I think I will start my homework that is due tomorrow.
…Thursday I head to Switzerland!
So until then, Angela
