I think the last 4 weeks have caught up with us - we were a bit slow to get going today! Didn't leave the apartment until 3pm...

Time to see Edinburgh castle this arvo though. So off we set on our trek up the Royal Mile and through the Military Tattoo to the castle.

Have to admit, unfortunately we were a little underwhelmed. Everyone had raved about it but I think we have seen so many of these amazing sites on our trip that it really wasn't a stand out.

I'm sure it may have been enhanced by the view if we could have seen it properly, but you wouldn't believe it, the whole of Edinburgh has been under fog for the entire day. All we need now is some snow and we'll have covered every icon on the Met Offfice !!!

Leaving the castle we decided to try our luck shoe shopping on princes street. Another disastrous attempt - I am a useless fashionista! It would have been quicker, and I would have put Chris through less misery (though thankfully he has golf on his iPhone), if i'd just bought a new dress that would have worked with black shoes. I thought I'd picked a dress that gave me multiple options but there are no royal blue or musk pink shoes anywhere. The quest continues tomorrow...

So after doing an entire lap of the city on foot, we traipsed home, stopping for a lovely dinner as a 3 at an Italian restaurant. Mitch was in his usual good form and had the waitress wrapped around his finger.

The rest of the crew for the wedding are at a bar tonight but strangely enough, they don't allow 1yr olds in and no one else has kids here :( So we're home. Oh how times have changed... (disappointed, but our bank account will thank us for the rest)
