Small entry today...
Left our beloved Lodge and headed south down the freeway to Edinburgh.
Won't relive it in detail, it was the highgate cemetery tour debacle all over again, but arrived 10mins late to pick up our parking permit (this time owner gave us wrong closing time). Thankfully, she was just as frustrated as I, and after many conversations this arvo trying to sort it out, we're now besties. Still don't have the parking permit though! (have to wait till wed morn when the volunteer council office re-opens - aargh!)
Anyway, enough of that. It cuts me deep (Ree and Tim will understand this because they saw the hours I put in at home trying to find a place here that has a parking spot!)
So we spent the arvo settling in to our apartment, which is great by the way. Has everything we could possibly need, although it is up 3 flights of stairs (but we get good views) and Mitch had a well deserved sleep in his cot. Locals look a little strange though (found out later we're in the 'student district' - explains the weird hair).
Come 8pm it was time to hit the town with the Allsopps and Mackies - dinner at Zizzis. Not sure there was all that much wedding talk, Mitch seemed to steal the show. He put in a good effort until 10.30pm when he'd well and truly had enough.
Was great to see everyone though and its all starting to get very exciting. Got a big week of activities planned and although I have been informed that i wont need a last-minute blitz for a jacket for the wedding (apparently church, castle and marquee are heated) I'm going to ignore the locals advices and look for one anyway. Do they seriously think an Aussie won't be cold at anything under 20 degrees!?!
