The spoiling continued today - starting with a much needed sleep-in!
When we finally got ourselves sorted David and Linda took us on a guided tour of Birmingham. I think david was a bit disappointed that he didn't have 3 weeks to show off their home city, we only had about 3hrs.
We started with St Martins cathedral, the markets (which started in 1100, had to replace my jubilee bag, even Chris' needlework couldn't save it), the bull ring (new shopping centre), new road (old shopping mall), town hall, council house (brought out the Aussie card again so we could get in and look at the dome), new library, newer library (not to be opened until 2015), symphony town hall & international convention centre (with bridge built across to Hyatt that was made 1m short - by accident) and the canals. Phew... and it was still only 1pm.
Following lunch at cafe rouge we went back to David and Linda's for a cuppa and to pack up - then onwards and upwards again to Chester, to robin's place (Lizzie's brother - we've now stayed with the whole family).
Met Lizzie (who happened to be in Chester for work - sweet!) and Robin, and later Sarah (Rob's girlfriend) and had dinner at a pub. Finally Chris got his fish and chips. In true Aussie-style, that meant a photo had to be sent to Simon to rub it in!
Overnight at robin's place. Slightly exhausted...
Ps. yes, that photo is Mitch asleep in his car seat in the cole's dining room (we had to get him out of their car and into ours)
