We must have picked the worst day of London's summer to go to the zoo. The wind was that cold, and the rain that horizontal, that the only animals in the park that weren't taking shelter were the penguins - and even then they were practically frozen to the spot (see photos for proof).
Despite being drastically underdressed, we had a great 5hrs wandering around the park looking at all of the animals and watching the shows/talks. And this time, even Mitch was interested (don't know why Cessnock zoo didn't rock his world last time). Although he also seemed to have considerable fun just sitting on Ganey shoulders. I think he prefers to see the world the way Simon does.
Group consenus:
- Favourite animals - giraffes, sea lions, bird display (Ganey surprised himself) and bears
- Most disappointing - red panda (was just up a tree with its bum facing out), otters (couldn't even find them, hiding from the weather) and wolverwine (another absent contender - I'll stick to Hugh Jackman)
The day concluded with the four of us adults being tremendously cool and watching Part I of the final Harry Potter movies, in preparation for our tour on Sunday. Chris and Lizzie took it in turns to see who could snore the loudest - clearly it was riveting!
