A day in Ricky today. Technically, our day started at about 2pm after Mitch woke up.
Headed out to Croxley Green for their annual fair (think Camden Show condensed down to the size of an Olympic swimming pool).
There were a lot of cupcakes for sale, crockery smashing, splat the rat and may pole dancing (not to be confused with the pole dancing i did at jule's hen's night, really it was 10yr old girls in brownies dancing in their brown tracksuits twirling ribbon around a big pole).
Then we popped on over to Choleywood Cricket Club to see Simon do what he does best - run really fast and throw a small red ball at a guy down the other end of the pitch (or 'bowl' for all you cricket snuffs).
Now I don't know much about cricket fields but I do know that ordinarily you want your run-up to be at the same level as the pitch (not coming in to a one foot rise) and that the only tree in the area should really be on the outside of the boundary rope (apparently if you hit the tree anywhere it's an automatic 4)... Hilarious ;)
Sadly 'our' team lost which meant early drinks and then onwards home for a curry feed and Harry Potter Part 2. And much to Simon's dismay, in the height of summer we convinced him to light the fire (not just for ambience, but for much needed warmth!). We're in an English Cottage with a warm fire and glass of red wine - tick that one off the bucket list :)

Phil A cricket club called Choleywood? The Poms still kill me! Good to see you guys are absorbing the English culture, but don't let that grandson of mine get to ingrained.
