It has been a good, but sad week so far. On Tuesday we had to say goodbye to Sister Mary and Sister Edith. Sister Mary is heading back to the states and Sister Edith was going with her, but will be back on July 3rd, just in time for our 4th of July party!! We got up and made breakfast for them the day they left and had one last "family meal". It's been really weird without them the past two days, but we're getting used to it. Sister Stella and Sister Pat are a lot of fun too. Yesterday was my first run since I've been here. We've been walking back from school the past couple days and we plan to keep it up (it's almost 4 miles!!), but man that run was hard. The thing that kept me going was seeing a young boy walking on the road and he was limping and had a foot disability. I saw him and I just told myself that if he can walk like that then I can keep running, and I did. It's been little things like that that have helped me get through some of my days here. On a totally unrelated note, last night I was introduced to Rummikub and I won the very first game I played.
Even though it's been nice not having electricity and internet it's a huge relief to FINALLY be able to update my blog!!! So much has happened since I've been here and I think I've done a pretty good job of remembering just about everything that I've done. So please continue to follow my blog and I promise I will be updating it a lot more frequently now that the computer is fixed!!!

Lynda Hirschbeck Hello my favorite She Devil!!! First off...we miss you and love you!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. Your stories continue to bring tears to my eyes.....what an amazing opportunity!! There is nothing more rewarding in life, then making a difference in someones life and leaving your footprint behind ...and sister......that is exactly what you are doing. God is good and blessed you with this amazing opportunity. I can not wait to see all your pictures. Please find out if there is a way for us to ship items to your friends. Updates from home: Granny has a new boyfriend, Sarah is dating David Freeze, Kaitlyn finally got a discount at work, Don shaved off his 20 yr mustache, Marc is still "bald" (you know what I mean) and T-Rex (the new exhausted homeowner) slept through Marc's party, so we all voted and he's hosting Christmas 2012 and 4th of July 2013 around the new pool. We love you, enjoy your journey and be safe!!! And if by chance your struggling with what to bring me...I ALWAYS wanted a pet monkey!!! Grab a bunch of bananas and maybe he'll follow you to STL!!! Hugs and Kisses.......Aunt Lynda
Kathleen Hey Nif!!! I have loved reading your blog updates!! I love hearing all of your stories-they are really inspiring! I am so excited to see you-less than a month until I will be at your house!!!!! I am glad you're feeling better about being away from home. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to transition into a totally new environment. Your Mom has been keeping me updated about how you have been since we haven't been able to email. If you are able to email me again please do! (If not, I 100% understand so no worries.) Oh I had an idea-you should get the recipies for some of your favorite African dishes and maybe we can try to make them in the fall!! I think it would be fun to try! I can't wait to see you in July. I love you so much man!! God Bless. <3 Leenie
