What an exciting day!
This morning I arrived at work to discover that I was in REP in the morning and Spare Parade (SPP) in the afternoon. I didn't know if anyone else was doing REP so I waited until the rehearsal was due to start and then found out that I was learning the routine for the Stars 'n' Cars Parade. There's a Villain car with Snow White's Queen, Cruella and Gaston in it, but it was just me and two girls in REP, both of which were playing Princesses who had already learned their choreography. So I sat and watched them recap and refresh their routines, and then I learnt the finale which everyone does, and then it took 10 minutes to teach the Villain routine for it and I was done and had a 3 hour lunch break.
When I'd finished my lunch I went to collect my first pay check! Which was nice, and I can cash them at the Banque Postale which is good - although from now on, my wages will go straight into my bank account methinks.
The list of what people are doing in the DOUD parade goes up at 3:15 so when it finally came around after the long break, I saw that I was down to do Soldat Vert (Green Soldier) in the parade! I learned the REP for it on Monday so it was still pretty fresh but finding out instantly made me nervous! I collected my costume and got half dressed to have Mise En Place at 3:45. The choreography the other soldiers did was slightly different to what I'd learned, but not by much, it didn't help my nerves at all!
When we were eventually called to go to the Parade entrance, I got really tense and kept practising, but when I got out there I was fine! I forgot a few things at first, but after that it was great! Although the parade route is quite long and I went full out non-stop. Making me a very tired bunny tonight.
I've been doing my last minute packing for my visit home and I'm so excited. I just hope nothing goes wrong, especially when I transfer from St Pancras to Paddington. I checked the tube and it's just one train and the station is literally the next stop on that line, but I'm scared I wont make it in time or something. Just gotta be brave and go for it. I'm really looking forward to seeing my family for Sarah's Big Day, it's going to be a wonderful first trip home since I got here. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I got here! It already feels like I've been here months, but at the same time the weeks have flown by!
I'm incredibly tired so I'm going to go to bed soon. My shift is 10-6 and my train is at 6:20 but I'm taking my stuff with me to work and I've already picked up my tickets. Not long now!
Update soon.
