Today was a non-event.

We decided to catch the bus to Val d'Europe then get the train from there to Disney which ended up being quicker and gives us extra time in bed! When we arrived, like yesterday we got changed into our kit, clocked in and went to the training room. After a quick theory test we got into our costumes and todays lesson was about entrances and exits. Unfortunately, when I was leaving the room to prepare for my entrance, I fell down the steps outside the door and twisted my ankle!! I was taken to the First Aid in a wheelchair (!) and after being checked out and bandaged up I was taken back to the training room. I was told not to practice for the rest of the day

When I got there, everyone had gone for lunch! So, I limped to the bus stop and went to the cantine where only half the people were there. I ate lunch quickly and went back outside to where people were waiting. We then walked around the park and back to the training building.

In the afternoon, the others in my formation donned their costumes again and we went to a rehearsal studio and they had to dance and be in character for almost 20 minutes to practice a "set".

Afterwards, we went back to the training room for a half hour break, and they then put the costumes back on. Véronique played music with dialogue and everyone had to pretend to be the speaker to practice moving the head and animating.

When that had finished we took off our costumes and took them back to the costume department. Véronique took told us which character we will be for our "approval" tomorrow - where we go into the park and perform a character set and she will monitor us and decide whether we are good enough - I will be The Sheriff of Nottingham. She then took us on a tour of the different areas of the park in which we will perform. Tomorrow I'm in Fantasyland for my approval which is near It's A Small World and the Castle.

After work we went around the park and rode on Crush's Coaster from Finding Nemo and then the Terror Tower which is like Detonator at Thorpe Park but drops multiple times! It really took my breath away and I screamed lots.

Back at the flat Alaina and I got straight onto youtube to look at clips to watch to get ideas for our approval. Alaina is Timon from Lion King - I'm quite jealous - so she's been researching lots as she has never seen anyone perform that character.

I spoke to mum this evening which was nice. I've been feeling a bit homesick so it was nice to hear her voice. I'm anxious about getting the days off I need for Sarah's wedding, but if I do it means I only have a short wait 'til I can see family again. I'm also missing George a lot. It's been very tough with him in Italy and not being able to talk online. When he's back after Friday it will be much better and I will also see him at the wedding. Also mum, dad and Tom are coming out for Tom's birthday. I think Tom and I are excited in equal measure - me because it will be nice to have family out to spend time with me and also see me work hopefully! - and Tom because he used to work here and will enjoy being back methinks.

Well it's 9:30 and I haven't had tea yet so I'll sign off, and update you tomorrow on how my approval goes!
