= completed thru-hike of the Colorado Trail!
Finished the trail at 9:30am this morning with Wonder (Veda will hopefully be along later this afternoon with her site ankle) and feels great! It was kind of anticlimactic to finish in this little trailhead parking lot, but there was at least a bathroom there! And we also found a guy to give us a ride into Durango so that we didn't have to road walk for 5 miles.
Luckily the Best Western let me check in early so that Wonder and I could both grab a shower and change before heading out to lunch. Spent a couple of hours wandering around Durango (bought a clean T-shirt to wear since my set of clean clothes are in Denver) until the thunder started and then said goodbye to Wonder who had to get on a plane to Denver and then to Atlanta this afternoon.
It's weird to not have to hike anywhere tomorrow, but I'm happy to be sleeping in a bed tonight!
Tomorrow I'll write a blog of my final thoughts, after it all sinks in, and also share some of the (many) random thoughts that I think about while hiking.
Cheers
