Woke up around 9, checked my e-mails, go showered and dressed etc then got my Lonely Planet out as I wanted to sort out my next leg of my trip. Did a bit of research on the next few places then booked my buses uo till Fraser Island. I'm going to stay here with Steph till Friday then go to Mooloolaba, an optional stopover that not many people seem to do. Its a little beachtown, will be nice to visit after being in the city, and it's also the nearest place to visit the zoo from. So I will spend two nights there, going to the zoo on Saturday, the head up to Noosa on Sunday where i'll also spend two nights. Lauren loved the hostel she stayed in there so i wil be sure to book that! After that was all sorted I went for a jog! Yep, you read that right haha! The sun was out again so jogged down to Woolworths and picked up some food, had been lookin up easy recipies online and had found a good website for easy meals, nothing I couldn't have thought of myself but gave me some ideas all the same :-) I also got some ingredients to make flapjack as I fancied baking and thought it might be nice for Steph and Shelly, so i made that when I got back but it didn't go too well! I couldn't find and golden syrup in the shop so tried a syrup-less recipie i had seen, it tasted good but didn't stick together at all so now i just have lots of sugary and buttery oats! Would be good on top of a crumble or ice cream or something, but its annoying it didn't go to plan. Had some lunch and popped onine and Mike was on! It was half 5 in the morning for him, he was already up for work! Can't believe he has to get up so early on a Saturday! he was ahead of schedule though so I had a nice chat with him, it made me feel sleepy though and when he hung up I totally crashed out and slept for an hour! Only woke up because Steph had got back and asked if I was ready to go out. She had a few more places to show me which was cool! We went back up Mt Coot-tha, where we had looked out over the lights of Brisbane last Saturday. The sun was just going down as we got there, so I got to see it by daylight and then all the buildings lighting up as it got dark. There was a wedding going on where we had sat the week before and it looked beautiful, would be such a nice place for a wedding, so that was really nice to see. We then headed down to Kangaroo Point, stopping at McDonalds on the way as we had kept seeing posters and had to give in to the advertising! Kangaroo Point is a lovely area by the river, with a really nice boardwalk along the river and loads of cliffs that are popular with climbers and abseilers. Was really nice walking by the river at night with al the lights refleting off the river and we even saw a group of people kayaking along the river with lanterns on their kayaks to see the way, was like something out of Harry Potter, would be so nice to do. So we walked along the boardwalk for a bit, saw another wedding in a little shack thing which was lovely, then headed back to the van and went up to the West End where we wandered around for a bit then Steph took me to a little bar type restaraunt. It's well known because there's Barbie heads hanging off the chandalers, looks pretty creepy! It's only a little restaraunt but really trendy, like most places in the West End. You're only meant to be in there if you planning to eat so we pretended to be waiting for people and had our water (drinks were expensive!) while we chatted. Stayed in there for a bit then left, popped into another little bar for a look then came back. Got ready for bed and did yesterdays blog then Mum came online, so chatted to her on Skype, then got to speak to my Gran and Grandad which was lovely as I hadn't spoken to them since I had been away :-) Spoke to Mum again, then Dad... catching up with everyone! will be going to sleep once this blog is posted, night! x
