Steph was doing a fairy magic party for a 5-year-old girl today and said I could go with her! I was really keen to come and see what she did and love kid's parties anyways so was quick to say yes! I would love to be 5 again! We left at about 9 and drove down the Gold Coast to the house. Took about 45 mins to get there. Steph had done a show for this family before so knew they'd be ok with me coming. The family were really nice, the birthday girl, Cate, was so sweet and her sister Emily was 7 and really friendly. They were totally fine with me being there and made me feel welcome. I helped Steph set up a bit but there wasn't a lot I could do so I chatted to the girls. The rest of the guests showed up and Super Steph began her show! It was really fun to watch and the kids loved it. Lots of gags and balloon's and some impressive magic thrown in! The best bit was definitely when Steph made a cuddly toy turn into her real life rabbit, Stu! No idea how she did it but I know I'm not allowed to ask! The kids had some food while Steph made each of them a balloon model then they played parachute games outside and then pass the parcel. Was a successful party! I was able to help Steph pack up afterwards which was good, as I want to make myself useful! Said bye to the girls and we headed back to Steph's house so she could drop of Stu, get changed and we could get some lunch. We then went out again and Steph took me to a place similar to Queen Elizabeth Country Park where we went for a walk - it really reminded me of being in England, which was actually really strange! The only difference was we saw some pretty big spiders, wouldn't find those in England! We then went to 3 different lookout points, which were really cool but again, felt like I was in England! Made me miss home slightly but we saw some great views. The strangest was where we were looking over some big spacious fields and right in the background you could see the skyscrapers of the city centre, looked like it was really out of place in the middle of nowhere! Had had a really bad headache all day so was feeling ready to go home, but it cleared slightly and we had such a good evening! Went to a venue called the Powerhouse back near the city centre in a lovely big park. It was a really cool venue for gigs etc but we were there for the comedy night. There was a bar and restaurant, an art gallery with loads of cool photography, which we looked at and then the main hall with funky sofas and a balcony etc. We got some drinks and good seats right near the front. Steph knew a couple of the people performing including Mike the MC who was really funny! The first half was mainly him and a few short sets from comedians, but they were all really good and had me laughing, a lot! There was a short break then a guy who had come last minute from a gig he had been doing somewhere else in the building. He was our favourite guy of the night, a mix between Jim Carrey and the "I Love Lamp" guy from Anchorman! He was very funny. The headline act was a guy who Steph recognized from TV, apparently he is pretty famous and I can see why as he was hilarious! He had a lot of audience interaction and was soo quick with his jokes and very witty! Would have liked him to talk to us but he didn't. Was such a good evening thought and completely free! Once that finished we got back in the van and drove down to the West End where we went for a curry! Had been saying how much I missed it and this was a little canteen that did really cheap curry, was nice though! We walked past the Three Monkeys, which was still open but decided to head home - but I was very tempted by that chocolate cake! Got back about half 10 and went online - Mike was on Skype! Had a massive chat with him, which was really really lovely, felt like we'd not been apart! Was pleased to hear that everything was good at his end and he is happy with his new work hours etc. He had to go to help his bro, think we'd have ended up chatting all night if he hadn't! But as he went offline mum came on so I got to speak to her! Was really nice contacting home, I love Skype! Dad and Dave were there too so got to speak to the whole family. Chose a good time to go away as they are getting the kitchen and bathroom done and say the house is a tip! Mum was trying to show me the dust on the keyboard, which made me laugh! They were off to have a BBQ, couldn't believe they were having sunny weather! But mum went offline just as Mike came back on so had a quick chat to him before settling down to go to bed. Had been a lovely evening :)
