Steph was working during the day so I had to time work on my CV and look for jobs. Ended up spending ages on the computer, I really don't know where the time goes! Managed to finish my CV though, had a look for jobs but thinking it wont be easy - there is always a catch, like you must have your own car or you must have had previous experience… pretty frustrating! So yeah, my day was spent on the computer, was sick of being stuck inside so decided to go to the supermarket for something to do and to get something for dinner. Was quarter to 5 when I decided to leave, asked Shelly the quickest way to the shop and she said she thought it shut at 5 on a Saturday which seems strange but she dropped me down which was nice of her, showing me a quicker way to walk. Got what I needed and walked back which took just over 10 mins. Cooked my dinner and got ready to go out for half 6 but we didn't leave till half 7. Steph had two parties to go to which she said I could come with her to, not magician parties, just parties where she got to be a guest J The first was her friend Wayne, who works for her. He was having a housewarming party. We got there and it was full of hippy/wacky people, some even had face paints and wigs on! His garage was open and there were about 50 people there, all sat round as 3 girls and a guy with banjos played some songs. Was mad but pretty cool, they were actually really good! Then someone else played some songs on a guitar and I got a call from home… my phone ringing was pretty embarrassing but didn't matter. Knew something was wrong when it was mum ringing and I found out the sad news that my great granny had died. She was the most fantastic woman, such a minx right till the end. We knew it was her time to go and mum had seen her the week before, she had died peacefully in a nice hospital which is the best way she could have gone. It wasn't unexpected. I was really sad that I was going to miss the funeral but mum said she'd take me to the place where her ashes were scattered when we get back. It was nice talking to mum despite the sad news and I was glad she had rung me. I went back into the house and sat back down in time to watch Wayne perform. Wayne is really interesting and … intriguing. He has the most hypnotic voice, dresses like something from a Tim Burton film and plays the double bass in a band who perform their set on stilts! He played a set with some of his housemates, not the band he tours with, but it was great, kind of eerie and mysterious. Did a brilliant cover of Cruela Devil where everyone was singing along. After that a guy came on with an accordion (I think you are getting a feel for the night!) and he played a few songs, he was mad! We left after a few of his songs, as we had to go to the next place. It had been interesting though!Steph explained that the next party would be the polar opposite of Wayne's and she was right! We headed to Fortitude Valley, an area of Brisbane where there are lots of clubs and bars. Found a street to park the Super Steph van down then had a bit of a walk to the venue… wouldn't have minded if my feet weren't hurting! Realized it was the first time I'd worn my ballet pumps and there were killing! On the way to the venue Steph said she had to show me a club called Cloudland's… it was AMAZING! It was the coolest club I have ever been in, I can't describe how amazing it was. Kind of like walking into an enchanted forest… there was a massive staircase with grass, a waterfall, every single detail had been thought out, there were booths that had massive beds for seats, a massive marble bar, a bar made out of clear balls, incredible lights... It was out of this world and totally free to get in to! Can't believe they didn't charge for entry, especially when so many pants places do! We looked around for a bit then moved on to the venue of the next party, another club, I can't remember what it was called. It had nothing on Cloudland's but was still pretty swish! Chris, the guy whose party it was, was celebrating his birthday and had hired out the top floor. Our names were on the list luckily and we went in - Chris does quite a lot of magic on TV so the party was full of TV people all dressed to the nines! After feeling over dressed at Wayne's I felt really under dressed here! Got talking to some friends of Steph's who were really nice and got introduced to Chris who seemed to be having a good time! Steph only knew one other person there who was a magician and he showed me a card trick which was amazing. I want to be a magician!! We danced for a bit, didn't stay too long. Headed back to the van, kicked my shoes off and went home. Was really sleepy so didn't take long to fall asleep!
