你好,
Such a rush! I didn't sleep great last night, and even though I had set my alarm for 7am I didn't wake until 9 - this was half an hour before our taxi was due! Luckily I had packed last night so it wsa just a case of adding some of my electronics to my bag, grabbing some baozi and jumping in the taxi.
We met Rachael at Nanchang at around 1pm and headed to our hostel. It was a decent place but we were surprised to find that we had to make our own beds. Good thing we can all do that :P
We headed out and did some exploring of the surrounding streets (and finding a Pizza Hut to have lunch in!) before returning to the hostel and watching the BBC1 rescore of the film Drive. The hostel had given us each a token for a free local drink as part of the welcome so we decided to go down to the bar and use those. On the way down the stairs Rachael found a wallet which we handed in. There was a table of older men sitting just over from us and they were very loud, they already had a selection of empty bottles on their table and they were playing dice games. We sat with our beers and watched the singer, guitarist and harmonica player entertain the room. We were enjoying the music and each other's company, sipping on our beers when a Chinese man approached us and was very thankful sounding. We were confused at first and then he showed us the wallet Rachael had found, and the next thing we knew we all had another beer from him.
I liked the atmosphere of the bar, even if the older drunk men were a bit loud, and we talked a bit with a younger Chinese guy who had very good English. We swapped wechat details and talked about different places in China to visit. We decided to call it a night when the drunk Chinese men came over with a bottle of... something... and started pouring shots for us, we declined and escaped upstairs much to their disappointment.
So now, just chilling and chatting in our dorm until we fall asleep,
Until tomorrow,
再见 x
