你好,
Hello :D It's been a while since my previous post, but honestly there hasn't been that much to write about, and this is only going to be a quick filler to let you all know that I am still alive :P
The first 3 weeks of this year have absolutely flown by! We've been teaching as usual (well I have, Lucie has been off ill but she is better now and back at work this week) and just using the weekends to relax and plan our next week's lessons.
Ben (our calligraphy teacher) did show me where there is a sauna in Yihuang, and I tried it out - it was so good! For only a fiver you get a nice hot shower, 40 minutes in the sauna, a facial and a massage :D Lucie and I plan to go again after our holidays.
That's right! This week is our last week of teaching before we get 6 weeks of time to ourselves :D Lucie and I are both really looking forward to our holidays.
Also, some interesting news - there are now 23 China volunteers! Two 8 month vols (Aidan and Ben) started at the Chongren Project this week, and will hopefully be meeting up with everyone in Shanghai at Chinese New Year, and Lucie and I are hoping to visit their project, and them to visit ours after the Spring Holiday (as they are only a 40 minute bus ride from Yihuang).
Last weekend we 'celebrated' our 5 months in China (which is technically today/tomorrow). A cinema opened in Yihuang last Monday, so on Saturday we went with Mrs Deng to see Seventh Son (I won't spoil, but lovers of The Wardstone Chronicles, don't get your hopes up). Before this, Lucie and I went out for dinner. It was a really nice evening and a good way to mark our 5 months - we're still alive and going strong :P
I said this was just going to be a quickie update, and look at the length of it! Looks like more happened than I thought. I hope you're all having a good 2015 so far. You probably won't hear from me for a while due to the holidays,
so until next time,
再见!x
