你好,
Today Lucie and I were taken to Fuzhou by Sophia to go to the Police Department about our visas. When we arrived we weren't even sure if it was open as it looked like a building site! Sophia found a policeman and we were told to go around and use the back entrance.
Inside we found the desk that we needed and proceeded to fill in a load of forms. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Until finally someone told Sophia that we needed to go to a room down at the other end of the corridor to get photos taken even though we had brought some with us.
We obliged and then went back to the desk where Lucie and I were quizzed about why we were in China, how long we were staying for, what we were doing etc. They seemed to be satisfied and then we had to take our passports back to the other room.
Upon arriving there (and after we had handed over our passports!) we were informed that the Police Department would send us our passports back after 15 days. Now normally this wouldn't have been a problem... but we are going to Shanghai tomorrow! And in China you need your passport every time you travel and for every time you stay somewhere. Sophia explained this to the policewoman and we were issued with official receipts for our passports with an official stamp so we can use them as a replacement for our passports until they are returned to us. Problem solved!
Now we are just preparing dinner and then onto the task of packing. Tomorrow we don't have to teach as the Sports Meeting has been moved forward a day, so that means we can have a little lie in and then do our last preparations for Shanghai,
Until tomorrow,
再见 x
