Tonight I contacted several friends around town to see where the best place I should take the group. There was kareoke at three different pubs in town and the best one to go to was Pepe Le Pub. So we all geared up to go out to karaoke at Pepe, where I also happen to be friends with the bartender -- he is my friend Cesar that I met through the couchsurfing website. The group had gained a few more NOLS people that had been staying at different places in town, so we all met at my hostel and hung out for awhile before heading to the bar at about 12:30-1am. Walking down the deserted streets of Coyhaique, our group was pretty prominent, especially being a big rowdy group of Americans (most of whom are under the legal drinking age in the US and haven't touched alcohol in over 80 days. Lol) . We doubled the occupancy in the bar as soon as we got there! The other bar I usually go to has kareoke but is usually in Spanish. Here, though, they had plenty of English songs that we could sing! It was a fun night for everyone and I realized once again how bad Americans dance. That is one thing South America definitely has going for them -- dance skills. :)
