Yesterday something terrible happened --- we ran out of dishwasher tabs! Thomas and Sandra are pretty sure that we are the only place in town that has a dishwasher because they imported it from Germany. Thankfully, they also have a good supply of tabs still in the storaget container on the edge of town. So today they went out with Mateo, their son, to go dig out some more. Turns out they have enough for 3 summer seasons, so we should be good! The printer we use for the office also conveniently went ka-put two days ago so they got their old one out the container as well. We crossed our fingers that it would work and it does! Thomas was, for good reason, annoyed at the one that died because it always seems that printers die not when they actually naturally should but when they are "programmed" to die.
Later in the day I went with Sandra and Mateo to the grocery store. We bought the necessities and also a couple of delicious looking slices of cake from the bakery, which later when we weren't paying attention was half destroyed by little Mateo's hands squishing the bag. Haha.
After we returned Sandra tried to help me find a cabana to rent since Felipe was coming to visit me the next day and staying for 4 nights. :) We didn't have any luck with the places close to us, so Thomas helped by calling a few places in town. That night we had dinner with a friend of Thomas and Sandra's and a lady who is also one of the horseback riding guides that we work with. She is from England and is dating the main horseback riding guide. She has been here for several years but spends the winters back home (she stayed here one winter and didn't really enjoy the awful snowy weather! lol) They gave me a lot of crap for my "boyfriend" coming to visit me. Haha. All in good fun, and it actually worked out because the friend had a idea of a cool cabana to stay in right on the edge of town. Thomas called and got me a reservation, which was awesome. I had attempted to try to call earlier that day but had such a hard time with the language barrier that I couldn't accomplish anything.
We are planning on hanging out around the city for a few days, meeting up with one of his friends that lives here, and also making a trip south to see the Marble Caves (that I have been wanting to do since I arrived here. It is one of the tours we offer to organize for people). I have high expectations for this fun little vacation!
