This afternoon we arrived in Surfers paradise. This place was originally called Elston but the name was changed to Surfers paradise in 1933(after a local hotel) as it was thought it would be more appealing to tourists, this certainly worked and is a pretty popular holiday destination for Aussies and overseas people, lots of stuff to do and hotels around.

We are staying in the southport end in a really sweet little hostel, the owner made us a cup of tea when we arrived! And pretty soon after we went out to explore our surroundings and ended up having a cold beer at the harbourside!

Later that evening when we arrived back at the hostel we decided on a late night dip in the pool it was pretty chilly but we had it all to our selves!
