Today is our last day in Surfers, with slight hangovers from the night before we had a little lay in before walking down to the park and having a swim in the lagoon on the water way. Tonight we went to an aboriginal dinner and experience at a wildlife park. It was pretty similar format to the maori evening we had done over in new Zealand and we learnt a bit about aboriginal and torres strait islander culture and watched some dancing and singing before being taken to a dining hall for a traditional meal, yum! This afternoon we arrived in Surfers paradise. This place was originally called Elston but the name was changed to Surfers paradise in 1933(after a local hotel) as it was thought it would be more appealing to tourists, this certainly worked and is a pretty popular holiday destination for Aussies and overseas people, lots of stuff to do and hotels around.
