Eaton Family's Aussie Adventure
Mitchell Falls is pretty spectacular as is most of the Kimberley region. There is a lot of aboriginal art here and lovely waterfalls. We did another helicopter trip here over the falls and then extended to over the Kimberley coastline - the water is an incredible colour and there is no buildings or people - it seems beautiful, vast and lonely. We drove to the area we flew over the following day on a rather harrowin 4WD track, with another family (2 cars is safer than 1) and had no mishap and collected a few shells and a lot of sandfly bites on the pebbly beach at the end of the road in a place called Port Warrender. We also stayed at King Edward River and Miners Pool in this area - both of which were lovely locations with good swimming - fresh water, and no estuarine crocs as they are above the major waterfalls to the ocean. Still quite a few freshies, though they are not interested in people.
