Eaton Family's Aussie Adventure
We spent 2 days in the Bungles and they are very impressive. We were there for Father's Day and had a Father's Day helicopter ride over the Bungles. This is one of the photos. It is toward the end of the dry season and the Bungles were very hot. We did our walks at 6am or earlier and had finished by 9am - after that it was simply too hot. The sun rises at 5am so it gets pretty hot by 9. There is no water at the moment in the Bungles so no chance to cool off. You will see in the album that there was awalk called Echidna Chasm and that was almost totally enclosed - so close were the walls to each other and that was a walk we did in the later morning after doing the mini palms walk. All in all the Bungles is a very impressive place, but to drive in you do need a 4WD as thgere are 8 water crossings and the road is extremely windy - 2 hours to do 40 or so km. We were slower as we were towing, but it was worth it.
