Gday Everyone,
Sorry its been a bit longer than normal to post an entry but I've literally had no spare time (well maybe thats a bit of a lie). But I have been busy. Since the last entry, everythings going amazing still, well apart from on occassions having to wake up at 5.30-6.00am for work. I've managed to sneak in a few nights out too into my busy week working. Well...it would have been rude not too.
I've been working a fair bit too since the last post (averaging about four days a week). But the good thing is that the shifts start at mainly 7am so when I get back I've still got time to catch a bit of that sun (if it decides to make a cheeky appearance). But occassionally I'm working through the whole day and not making it back to my room until 8pm. And I assure on those days I'm a hurting all over and maybe (well definately) humming a fair bit too.
Because we're obviously saving at the moment, we've sort of been picking what nights to go out on with a bit of thought. We are clever lads lol. Out here, many of the Clubs offer you free entry and free drinks for an hour (if you come dressed in a theme). Last week, we went sharking at a PJ Party at Scary Canarys and a Toga Party at the Gaff. They were both legendary nights and you can probably tell from the pictures that we all had a great time. Especially the PJ Party (what a great thing PJs are lol). Im sure you boys back home would agree! But honestly with regards to the old toga party....what an effort that was! It must have taken a good 30 minutes to try and work out how you put the damn thing on. So both those nights were cheap...you really do just have to attack the bar. Just barge those Ze Germans out of the way.
On Tuesday this week I worked from 7am-9.30pm! 14 and a half hours with two 30 minute and one 15 minute break. Oh my God! Thats definately the longest shift I've ever worked but good money earnt at least. Jake (a good old boy we met in the Hostel) now works for me too (I mean with me lol) so its a good laugh working with him. I mean he is Dutch...but I'll let that one slide. It was especially funny at the end of this shift because we were asked to lock up all the signs to the top of the exhibits but some of these locks were faulty so instead of finding a replacement (which would have taken more time and effort) we decided to sort of dangle it so it looked locked...then move on quickly, very quickly. Oops, I'm sure they'll hold. This week was Valentines Day too (just in case you forgot). What a rubbish day to be single! At pretty much every corner in Sydney theres a fella selling roses. And the old (very old) excuse of "I've got no one to give one too" doesn't seem to work. They're persistant. I did have the day off on Valentines Day too (thank the heavens) after that epic shift the day before.
Oh yeah I nearly forgot...I need to embarrass the legends that are Craig and Neil (V and Penks). Last Sunday, when I was getting over my hangover I got a call from those two. I should be drunk...not you! I now know what I must sound like after I make a call after a few too many sherbets lol. They even decided to give me some live audio commentary of Babecast. Dirty pervs...you wouldnt catch me watching such programmes. Really?? But apart from literally listening the whole duration of the phone call...it was good to hear from you boys. Sorry I had to name and shame ya, but it had to be done.
And as from yesterday (Friday) we've now moved into a little appartment/flat. Its owned by the same dude that owns the hostel and its only three doors down from where we were so the location, and what we're paying is awesome. We've got our own lounge, kitchen, and bathroom. So theres me, Mils, Rooms, Jake and a few Scousers in there. Its really nice but Im not sure how long it'll take for it to become a complete mess. I will get some pictures up too, and like the car we're trying to give the pad a name. Honestly though and compared to the hostel it is a bit of luxury. House party next friday me thinks lol. We've been out the last few nights (knowing that we're not gonna be getting too much of a chance next week) promoting our flat and just letting the right people know about the party next friday.
Ive got a busy week ahead, I'm working tonight, and my next day off is Friday! I'm feeling really tired too, (all that recruiting took it out of me) so hopefully tonights work wont be too demanding. We've been now trained to use a drill now too. I am now definately Mr DIY! But I'm not the quickest (me and Jake are definately the weakest links)...but I suppose the more I do it the more I'll get used to it. We're working at the Olympic Stadium from Sunday to Thursday. Its the labouring companies biggest event of the year. Oh dear...we'll see what happens. Im looking forward to it a little...the stadium suppose to be amazing. But I am ready to retire soon and hang up the drill. All I want to be doing enjoying myself (and Im really looking forward to heading up the East Coast before I head home. Anywho I've gotta go now, I cant be late again for work (only joking), so hope everyones OK and I'l make sure the next post wont take so long. Byeeee
