Hello everyone,
Sydneys becoming our home away from homes. Its not a bad place to call "home" though, and we've all enjoyed another memorable week here. We're all still waiting too, to begin a bit of work, but we've taken steps to make sure it'll happen sooner rather than later. Well hopefully anyway!
Last Sunday me and Milsy went to a workmates house warming but it weren't up to much at all! Not many people turned up and the ones who did shouldn't have...very boring people. I had to get out of there, I was literally falling asleep. So we met up with Fie and Emily in the City, who we had met before the last time we were in Sydney. Now these are two ladies that would certainly get any red-blooded male hearts going lol (see pics). It was cool to catch up with them and it turned out to be a great night.
Monday morning soon came and it was time once again for me and Milsy to don the famous Blue "Sponsor a Child" Shirt. But I decided not to go into work. I called...well texted in sick. I bottled phoning in, I'm not much of an actor. Milsy went for it one more time to see if he could make any deals. As you know deals equals actually getting paid! When he arrived back at the Hostel, he looked a very angry man. I thought he was going to lay the smackdown on one of those painfully annoying French lads in the lounge room. And they are losers! Theres been a few occassions where they either haven't let us through a tight gap or not held the door for us. So since then (being a bigger boy these days) I've been standing my ground. I think we may have started a mini-war in the hostel. We are a friendly bunch, but I suppose you cant get on with everyone. So basically a part from this battle with the French clan, we've been on the hunt for a job. Any job! Its quite hard though because even though there are a fair few jobs going, theres still a lot competiton. We've joined up with a few recruitment agencies too, so hopefully it will all start to roll in soon. Well it best do...if not we'll be visiting another new place...the Departure Lounge at Sydney International Airport. We went to see that Will Smith film "The Pursuit of Happyness" and thats sort of inspired us! Go on Will. Not sure if its out in the UK but its worth a watch.
We went to a foam party on Thursday...and oh yes the swimming shorts, not forgetting our arm bands (always thinking!) were all worn for the occassion. It was a great night! A bit different , and you always feel better in the morning (who am I kidding, I mean afternoon) when you finally wake up and have a little gander into your wallet to see a fair few notes smiling back up at you. We went to the Gaff again and they were doing $10 pitchers of Snake Bite. They're sooo nice and you cant go wrong with something like that, that costs about three pound fifty. So we made our way downstairs into the Club and got stuck into those pitchers waiting for the Foam to start and we may have had a little peek at the Wet T Shirt Comp that was taking place. What a place, what a country :-)! When the foam had finally started, I didn't even know. By this time as per, I had lost the boys and was busy meeting new people. But when I finally did make my way to the dancefloor, I had a bit of a near death experience, I think I briefly saw the light! I got a bit carried away when one of those cheesy numbers came on by singing along. The next thing the foam was heading in my direction and straight down the old gullet. Lovely. I had to pretty much swim out of there blind...so much foam. I must have looked like The Snowman "Im walking in the air" lol. When I managed to get away from the foam and wipe myself down I nearly fainted at what I saw next. It was Milsy enjoying a drink with those French from our Hostel (what war?). I think he was sipping a Pimms. Hmmm not really too sure what else I can say? If this war does ignite I'm sure he still knows where his illegiances lie. I did give him the cold shoulder for all of two seconds...but how can you stay mad at the Milsamanator. He even threw in a "Bonjour" the next morning. Dont rub it in pal! Anyways apart from all that (nearly dieing and all) it was a memorable night! This weekend we've just been relaxing in the Botanical Gardens, which is right bang next to the Opera House. Its been really warm this week so we've gotta keep on top of our tans. So thats about it, apart from the night out (where theres always a few stories to be told) and looking for a job little else has happened. Its just a case of saving on all normal costs in a week. So we're all praying we can get these jobs sorted in record time from now so we can start living in a bit luxury again! Its been nice to hear from you all...Bye from the land down under!
