Hello Guys and Girls,
We've been living it back up in a Hostel again this week! But luckily the last few nights we've had the room to ourselves. Maybe we smell a bit, but we don't care. Theres not much room to move about in at all, its just a small room (about the size of mine back home) with three sets of double beds with lovely thin mattresses. Thankyou Boomerang Hostel! But at least we've got a TV in our Box Room :-).
Anyways its been another great week in the land down under but at times its been tiring! All that walking. You'd think I'd be use to it all by now, but I'm definately missing the Fiesta back home. She'd take me everywhere....even the Shops round the corner or Seanomacs (who lives about a two minute stroll away). We started the week moving out of the Lads and Lasses house by the SCG and moving back into a Hostel in the city. We opted for the one we had stayed in before, Boomerang...cheap and cheerful. The only problem for me is that the showers are fixed into the wall and maybe I'm like the BFG or something but I have to near enough get on my knees to enjoy a morning rinsathon. Oh well. That afternoon, the Sunderland Boys and us decided we fancied a round of Golf somewhere nearby. So off we went into North Sydney where we found a Par 64 Course. A Par 64, whats all that about? But it was OK, nice and cheap. The way we like it! It was pretty quiet too, so even went off in a Five Ball. It was a very slow round, especially having to play with a few beginners. But it was a great laugh watching Rooms attempt to hit a Golf Ball. Milsy had a near death experience in the woods when he was trying to find his ball! All I heard was a "aaaaah SNAKE" but by the time I'd got there with the camera it turned out to be a giant lizard. But being a friend, I stepped up and single-handedly carried him out of those evil woods and back onto the fairway and into civilisation. What are friends for. After it was all said and done the scores read...Dela 73, Kev 83, Dane 87, Milsy 92 and Rooms 104. I just wish we'd of had a little wager on the Golf, I definately need some extra cash right about now.
On Tuesday and ever since all my life has been about is finding some work. Basically the fundage is running low and we want to experience the East Coast in the best possible way doing all the talkedabout things (skydiving, scubadiving) so a Job is unfortunately the way forward. So we've all been applying for Jobs online and been visiting recruitment centres. Boring I know. Managed to get an interview on Wednesday and a second interview on Thursday for a Sales and Marketing company, which at the time we thought was a right result! We applied for an ad asking for Sports minded people with events experience, but it turned out that the job entailed working for a company called "Plan" and knocking on door to door in suburbs about an hour away from Sydney asking people to sponsor children in Asia/Afria. I had a fair few doors slammed in the old noggin. Thankyou. And the problem with this job is that its all commission based so if you dont make any deals you dont get paid! But if your good at your job, you get $100 every deal so some guys working there are earning over $1000 a week! Unfortunately myself and Milsy are still in training mode (a.k.a Rubbish) and have only managed one deal each in two days. So we're still deciding whether or not to show our faces Monday lol. But whatever happens its been a really good experience. We're pretty keen to just get a job that guarantees a wage! We went out last night too, it was a sort double celebration. Firstly it was Danes Birthday and our work had a $300 bar tab running at a bar in the city. So after a while with Dane and the boys we made our excuses and headed off for a few hours to this bar to take full advantage of the tab! We joined back up with the boys later on but me and Milsy both made a schoolboy. Because we had been working during the day, we were both drained and the one thing you dont drink when your looking forward to that thin mattress in our hostel (thats how tired we were!) is Beer. So it turned out to be a very cheap night at least. So thats about it, hopefully next week all three of us will be sorted out on the job front and all making good money before our siege up the East Coast in Abi. Shes sleeping in a pretty rough area too at the minute so daily we have to check on her, shes a fighter though lol. So bye from Sydney and thankyou for all your texts, emails and messages!
