Evening All,
Its now official...I'm working! And just like my job at the Golf Club its really hard work. And yes it was hard work boys, I didnt watch DVD's all day. Well Maybeses. And at this new job at least the hours do fly. And I'm doing something different every day, so thats a bit of a touch. I'll definately be adding these new skills to the old C.V when I get home.
The start of last week was pretty damn boring, all I seemed to be doing was either signing up at different recruitment agencies or going to interviews. And to be fair, I was offered a few jobs which start now in a few days, and the problem is I cant say No (as many of you know) so at the moment I've got like three different jobs. I even got a call today from a fella at one place on my lunch break (I thought it was someone from back home because the caller ID was witheld) and all I could say was I'll see you tomorrow morning and everything is still OK. I even asked him how his weekend was? What am I doing! Damn it. I think the old mobile may be switched off tommorrow. Well I cant be seen on the blower (thats a phone, I know what you boys are like) when Im at my proper job.
Before this job started on Friday, I did manage to keep the daily exercise up by going for another little run with Roomy. I'm only telling you this for the one reason because I am officially fitter (in more ways than one lol) than Will. The amount of times I had to stop for him to catch up was ridiculous. It reminded me of Sean when I used to go running with his lardy a** lol. He always stopped for having a stich...:-) So Friday came and my god I had to be down at Darling Harbour for 5.30am which means the alarm had to be set for 4.15am. 4.15am! 4.15am! That time does not exist. Well not for waking up. It was a heroic effort just getting my lazy body out of my o so comfy bed. On Friday I was actually working for my now boss through the recruitment agency but a few hours in he asked me and another fella if we were up for working for him full time. Yes please. I can smell the money coming in now and I'm getting paid between $25-30 an hour! Basically I'm now working for a Labour company who set up exhibitions. To date, I've been fitting carpet (the hands were hurting through that) and putting up the exhibition exhibits (now the backs hurting!). Its tough work, but its pretty cool starting from scratch in a massive hall and seeing everything come together to create an awesome event. Im working with a group of guys and oh yes I have been taking some right stick for being a pom. That ribbings all subsided now because on the Friday night a miracle occurred, we beat the Aussies at CRICKET! It was pretty strange because earlier that day I had an answerphone message from Andrew Strauss. He basically just said that he'd been keeping up to date with what I've been up to and that he read last weeks entry in front of the rest of the England team. And according to the great man himself , all Ed Joyce could say for the next few hours (even when he was in bat) was "Ton for Dela" "Ton for Dela" lol. So thanks to Joyce and the boys, it was a perfect start to the evenings festivities. We went to a house party first which was good. It made it even better though because me and Milsy polished off a bottle of vodka and whisky (oh yes whisky Loveridge) between us. The whisky weren't even ours! And they always taste better too when your own blood, sweat and tears didnt go in to buying it. Or is it the other way around? Then it all gets a bit blurry (obviously), but we ended up heading to another different nightspot called "VU" in Kings Cross to meet up with Cas and the Girls. I stumbled back in just after 5am with many regrets (from the drink lol). Now that was a long day, up for 25 hours straight...I could have slept anywhere that night.
I had a day off Saturday so nursed the hangover outside in the sun (it was like 35 degrees, ouch!) and as you can see from the picture, the ball made an appearance. On a String it was. On the Sunday it was back to the Convention Centre for 10am (thats more like it) for another long day setting up the event. One of the Aussie workers (Jamie) is even an Arsenal fan so I had a little wager on the Man U Spurs match. Yeah yeah I know what happened! What a waste of $20! But its all part of our plan to pick up that UEFA Cup at the end of the season. And cheers boys for waking us up with your calls last night (Rich) I will get my revenge, dont worry about that pal. And Sean, the Aaron Lennon show is always on, you wish you had the wee winger! 4-0...thats just embarrassing! I knew I shouldnt have built it up (Auntie Elizabeth was right!) But Milsy best watch out because next weekend its now the biggest match of the season the Blades (going down for sure) V The Spurs. Anyways gone off the subject a bit there (as per) but I finished work on the Sunday at half 7. Another long day and I even had to be back there today for 7am. This work malarki's really not for me. But at least Ive now signed on (Rich!!). I'm off to bed now because Im back at work tomoz for 6.30am, but I've got wednesday off I think so I'll brave it for at least one more day. Good to hear from you all (well those that I've heard from) and keep the banter up boys. See/speak to you all soon.
