Today was performance day!We had our final rehearsal this afternoon—went great!Today was also one of my students, Peter's, birthday so we had a little party for him after rehearsal.His mom brought a cake and we all sang to him.It was his last day because he was going to Shanghai to be with his dad for his birthday so I had to say goodbye to him after school.The end of the year ceremony went so good and my kids did awesome!Nicola had come up with a cute idea of making them head, wrist, and ankle bracelets to represent their colors for the color song and we pinned a coloring page of a world in hands onto their shirts for "He's got the world in His hands" song.At the end of the program all of the teachers and T.A.s sang "You and me," which was the song they sang at the opening ceremony at the Olympics last summer.Everyone went crazy, especially the kids, when they heard us sing in Chinese.It was so cute; we did an encore presentation for them.I took lots of pictures afterwards with the kids and one of my girls, Sunny, said goodbye because it was her last day.I started to tear up so we will see how long I last tomorrow when I have to say bye to all of my kids and Nicola. LWhat an amazing last 5 weeks it has been!
