I love how our team starts every morning off with a devotional, reading the Word, sharing what the Lord is teaching us, and encouraging each other through our struggles. It is a great reminder of how important it is to stay rooted in the Lord's Word because I know I can't do this without Him. I love looking back on experiences and realizing I could not have gotten through that experience without the Lord working through me and I know this will be one of those experiences, which is exciting! Have I mentioned how much I love my team? They are amazing and we mesh so well together! Everyone is so uplifting, encouraging, and such a joy to be around!
Every day has just gotten better and better! Lesson planning has been a lot easier now knowing the comprehension and interest of my students. The past two days I actually have had multiple activities that I haven't gotten around to. The kids have been so much fun! It is hard at times, but my kids are getting better at listening everyday and I know it's only going to get better! My T.A. and I took some great pictures of our kids today. They are so precious!! We sang this song called Bananas and we sang it like five times today. The kids absolutely loved it! I did my head spin (my roommates will appreciate that) and my T.A. got a picture of one my girls head spinning herself haha! They were cracking me up!
Tonight for dinner we took another black taxi and we literally were about to T this van and at the VERY last second the van got around us. I seriously don't know how we missed them! The taxi cabs don't have seat belts so I jumped into one my teammate's laps. Haha they laughed at me, but I just knew we were going to hit that van. They drive offensively here rather than defensively. My teammate said it is bad business if they injure their passengers haha so I am pretty calm now when we come close to colliding. It is actually quite humurous. It is like the drivers have no sense of lines or lights. They run red lights, drive on the wrong side of the rode to pass people, and drive in between lines all the time! Half of our team is in our room right now working on lesson plans. We start working on drama presentations for the middle of the semester tomorrow. I am going to look for a cute skit or song for them to sing. We will have a big production at the end of the year, the mid-semester presentation is just practice for the kids speaking/acting in front of a crowd. I need to get a few more ideas and then I'm going to sleep. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! My roommate read the following verse this morning at our devotional and it really stuck with me:
"I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness." Isaiah 42:6-7
