Each day gets weirder than the last.
It was a normal Monday until I walked out of my music class. It started when we moved classrooms because we were going to watch a movie. Thinking it was going to be exciting and over the moon at the fact it had English subtitles, I began to watch the most disturbing movie which was dedicated to a choreographer who had died. What I watched was NOT dance. I even tried to understand why the lady said "THIS IS VEAL" and began dancing with it in her shoes or why the other lady walked onto the train looking like the grudge making noises like a tap. Then EVERYONE started dancing like they were possessed and a few guys started swimming on stage in the water on the floor........this wonderful movie was called Pina. Maybe you should watch the trailor?
Tuesday. Since it was Valentines Day, we had activities at school about pushing boundaries and getting out of our comfort zone. So, I happily played music for a few hours with a group of other students and it was honestly fun. THEN, we had to move to the hall and listen to a Danish sexologist for about 2 hours. Now, this is when not understanding Danish comes in handy. Though I must say it's worse when you can understand some of what he was trying to say. "Now look into her eyes and say jeg ser dig. (I see you) Then look into her eyes and say jeg elsker dig ( I love you). Now imagine the whole school looking into each others eyes for 5 miutes with a creepy song in the background whisper singing "I'm here for you." Then this guy takes out his African tribe drum and starts hitting it while we all walk around tapping each other on the shoulders because it shows love. I won't even begin to tell you what props he brought out to show us......
On top of that, someone actually made a youtube movie with the storyline of someone getting slowly killed by a spoon. Just a normal spoon. And this poor guy gets chased around getting hit with said spoon. Thanks to the person that linked that to me....
Had my first choir session and I really enjoyed it. I'm a soprano! LAAAA. I'm just, you know, a little excited about this Prague trip.
Wednesday was a little less sexually exciting but I think i'm ok with that. I only had English class since the second module got cancelled and then I waited at school until I could go and collect my bacon and egg sandwhich. BACON! The Danes have some amazing bacon. I could eat it forever and ever.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I actually found my black beanie i'd lost 3 weeks ago. It must have frozen under the snow and since it all melted a few days ago I stumbled across it when I went outside. My friend was right......unbelievable.
I received a lovely letter from Ms. Chloe Saker and it made my week! So old fashioned but ultra cool so i'll keep it forever. It had Air Mail stamped on it and everything!
Had a nice skype session with none other than Steph Stankiewicz. Though I was at school so it sounded like I was talking to myself and showing my laptop outside the window. I'm glad you found that so hilarious.
Danish is a pain in my backside and I think my poor Danish teacher realised this when he changed the topic from ours, yours and you (plural) to the time again. Tak Daniel, though I'd wish you'd show up earlier so we didn't have to sit in the other class for 5 minutes :)
I'm going skiing this Sunday and I'm not quite excited yet but i'm sure once I see the snow and attempt to go down the slopes the excitement will find me.
Spent a day in Aalborg with Laura (an exchange student from Columbia) and we took lots of photos and ate some marvelous Danish pastries.
There are friends here who remind me of people from home. They generally make me the happiest but the most home sick at the same time. It's completely confusing but i'm emotionally insecure at the moment so eh.
There is legitimately a guy at school who looks like Harry Styles from One Direction. EXACTLY the same! I have a mini heart attack every time I see him before remembering half the people here don't know who One Direction is....
AND FINALLY, there's a point when you realise that you have to make your own decisions because no one else is going to help you but yourself. No one is going to ask you if you're ok all the time or hold your hand anymore. I've realised you have to ask yourself these questions and either act on then or let life keep going how it is. I guess this is where you begin to find yourself. You ask yourself what's the difference between giving up and needing a change? It scares me that everyone says they love their host families so much without hesiation. What's wrong with me!?
Jeg er meget sulten........

Sarah I said ' Did you end up eating something Alex??' because you said you were hungry ... you could have pretended... we could have had a full conversation in Danish :'( my dreams... just ruined
