So as the title says, i'm going to give you some info on the stuff which isn't that interesting but happens to come with being an exchange student.
The one thing that sticks with you is when more than one person says "limit contact with people from back home". It's not something you want to hear and i'm not doing a very good job at it. Though it's not my fault facebook isn't blocked at school or that I don't understand Danish Chemistry, Physics or Biology. Back on topic though! The advice makes sense because somedays you'd like to throw your laptop accross the room because you're so damn frustrated. Which leads onto my next point.....
People said don't write or send messages when you're angry/sad because it could all be fine within hours. Annoying as it seems when you are angry/sad, this advice is accurate once again. You can honestly have mood swings every 20-30 minutes and it's confusing. You can be smiling at the snow and laughing about something stupid (have you seen the wedding crashers? Jeez that's a good movie) and then having an emotional breakdown 2 hours later because you ran out of chocolate or got pissed off because you haven't learnt Danish in 3 weeks. And you're listening to depressing songs by yourself which leads to point 3.....
Songs seem to be painfully accurate no matter what mood or situation you find yourself in. There's always a stupid picture or gif on Tumblr which sums up every damn emotion you're feeling in 3 words. Why on earth some artist you've never met can make explain how you're feeling I have no idea. I've never even heard this song before but hey this guy knows more about me than I do. Is that how celebrity obsessions start? I don't know!
SO, I have a school partay this Friday and its dress up. No idea what i'm going as but I don't think I'll be going as an Olive or Leonardo Di Caprio (thanks but no thanks Steph) or Hagrid (Dad....) It's like Halloween but a Danish version and people seem to go all out so i'm excited :)
Other random things. Whoever made that facebook group "you know you're an exchange student in Denmark when.." is a genius. Kudos to you stranger. They're showing Masterchef Australia from 2 years ago here. No idea why. Don't understand it but whatever floats your boat. You thought we had a lot of crime shows on tv? No, I can always find a good crime show to watch ANY time of the day and I love it. Partly because it's in english but the storylines are pretay interesting. Breathing in the cold air actually hurts! The fresh air is killing me har har har. When you cough you cough a little fog cloud and amuse yourself for a few seconds.
Also, driving back from my little sisters dance concert we crossed a river and the temperature dropped to -21 degrees, we slowed down straight away and it became so foggy I swear the grudge was going to come and kill us.
Holy Lord it's almost been 1 month! Has it been as fast for you as it has for me? Have I actually achieved anything yet? NOPE! LåL!
Songs which I have been listening to lately. Help the people - Birdy. Leave out all the rest - Linkin Park. Born to die - Lana Del Ray. Stop & Stare - One Republic. Happy Ending - Mika. Shadow of the day - Linkin Park. <--------Good Stuff If you can find a path without obstacles it probably doesn't lead anywhere. Vi ses <3- comments
Sonia Szarycz It's sounds like your having an awesome but I guess confusing time. Has it been hard to make friends at school without speaking Danish???
