Sådan.
The saturday before last I had a skype session with my group. Guys you have waaaay too many parties, i'm competely confused by all the pictures on facebook. You did make me feel very happy though so I forgive you for having fun. Hearing 20 different conversations in English was confusing but nice and reminded me of lunch breaks at school. Sorry for sounding American. I'm working on it.
I thought Denmark didn't have any bugs but I was wrong. These crazy little black bugs have been flying out of no where especially when the sun is shining and you're sititng in the perfect position on a park bench by the lakes.
Sitting in 13 degrees can make you feel so good. I even put my sunglasses on. Felt a little rebellious you know.
It hasn't happened before but it finally did. Lying in bed I dropped my Ipod on my face. In my defence, I didn't exactly drop it. The headphones just got stuck around my body when I was trying to move it, therefore causing an unexpected tension and lack of judgement on how tightly to hold my ipod and so it rebounded onto my face. Luckily, the rest of my blemishes kindly covered any mark it left.
Now We're In Prague Week:
So we left Wednesday night just after 8pm. We were all pretty excited and pumped for the next 4 days in an unknown city. Of course we talked until early in the morning but eventually the need for sleep over powered us and everyone had an awkward time getting comfortable in bus seats. This is where (thank God for editing, I originally spelt that wear) my pillowpet (now named creepy sheepy) came in handy in being a makeshift blanket and pillow for Kelsea and I to share. At some point we woke up in Germany and after driving a few hours more we had reached Prague.
Arriving at about 9am we pulled up at the hotel. It looked nothing like the photos on the internet may I say. It looked incredibly dodgy and when we got inside my feelings were confirmed. They even had the guts to say it was a 2 star hotel. The movie Taken could have been filmed there. And we never found out how the mini Stanley's knife ended up in our bathroom sink O.o
Took a tour of the city and Prague is beautiful. The churches, streets, buildings, easter markets, shops and everything was just amazing. For someone coming from a non-european country with all buildings built within the last 200 years things were breath taking. The Prague exchange rate is also incredibly generous to the Australian dollar so I could have spent money all day long without a care in the world. Food and restaruants were soooo good and quite cozy.
Making friends. Yay for friends and good company. I definitely met a few new people and became even closer with others. It was a great time and oh so hyggeligt. A lot of inside jokes and mental pictures but in general we all had a great time with each other. Step Aside. Hot.
I really love freaking people out with my age but it can also worry me. On average, the people i'm around can sometimes be between 18-20 and so when they remember i'm only 15 it takes them by surprise. I can see the difference when people are wanting to do "social things" but luckily people are willing to look after me and not go so crazy if they know it will make me uncomfortable. Age difference is one of those things which really doesn't matter until you realise that if this was 5 years ago, the people graduating middle school would have been hanging out with an 11 year old. Not cool guys, not cool at all. But please don't leave me.
SO, the reason we actually went to Prague. It was really for a singing competition between schools from around Europe and even the States. Everyone was really talented, even the 11 year old folk band from Russia. I have never seen so many little children who can play the accordian. Such a site. Although some might argue they won due to the fact they had little dancers wearing cute green dresses and holding flowers I will admit they had talent. All in all, we placed but didn't do that well. It was a good experience though and being in a choir makes you feel good.
We watched a professional choir singing songs from around the world and to my pleasure they sang "Waltzing Matilda". Being the only Australian in a hall of 800 I had a nice time clapping and wooing in front of everyone before singing to myself. It was a little emotional but I got a song and Denmark didn't so ha.
The church incident. It has to be discussed. This was Saturday so some people had already had the opportunity to hit the town the night/morning before. Now boys, there aren't many of them singing in the choir but yes they were hungover. If that wasn't bad enough, when people started clapping along to Man In The Mirror our choir had a total spaz attack and forgot the lyrics. Hence, we were standing there awkwardly for a good 10 seconds. It's funny now but at the time it was just plain embarassing.
Not trusting any food the Hotel served, we barely ate and headed back home once again. I don't think i've ever slept so much or so well for quite a while. It was an incredibly emotional bus ride since I went from dead tired, to feeling like sh*t, to being really sad, overly happy and in general confused about what happened on which days of the trip all within 12 hours. I was happy about what we all managed to laugh about and tired from just doing whatever we did. I felt sick because I had inhaled a lot of second hand smoke (unfortunately it is still legal to smoke indoors in Prague. Disgusting) and i'm sure people had spread their germs around the bus. I was sad due to the fact that everyone had their phones out on the bus telling their parents that they would be home soon. Kelsea and I had the lovely feeling of knowing we were going to home to strangers and so, as always, she looked after me during an emotional moment. You know that feeling, of seeing your parents after a trip or camp. Yes, only 9 more months till I can have that feeling again <3
After getting back I slept in till 12pm (the first time ever being here because i've been a good girl) and made sure I did absolutely nothing all day. On Tuesday I went to Sofie's to make pancakes and chilled at Kelsea's for a little while. Rode my bike around and i'm so unfit. PLEASE PLEASE someone join the gym with me. Although I had a little joyful moment still fitting into size small skinny jeans at the shops i'm not letting my thighs getting any fatter. I'm dead serious. If you want to join the gym with me, you can.
All in all I had a great time and tomorrow i'm leaving with my host mum and sister for Amseterdam. I'm really excited now. I'll knock back a few panadol if my cold insists on staying and will be ready to see some more of what Europe has to offer.
I think i've been holding my breath and all of a sudden I had this massive breath of fresh air. It was a crazy but I now feel so much better. Looking out across the calm waters I'm feeling good. And old, or is it mature? I can't tell the difference anymore.
Preparing for the 3 month crisis. :D
Lots of love xo
