I' ve made it through one month and I can't tell if that's a good or bad thing. I honestly don't know what i've been doing the last four weeks but i'm not going anywhere until i've learnt Danish, built a snowman, had hot chocolate in Norway, met Princess Mary, been told I love you when it's snowing, attempted to sing Danish songs in Prague and not to gain 10 kgs after eating pastries and chocolate continuously. Yes some of those are a bit far fetched but a girl can dream.
Let's re-cap on Alex's misfortunes and adventures for this week.
1. I played sport, had a shower and then fell on my naked ass in front of everyone. It's a good ice breaker but I don't reccomend it to anyone. The floors in those showers are slip-er-y!
2. Some of the bus drivers listen to their ipods when they're driving and it's extremely cute.
3. I had a lovely lunch with the other exchange students and talking to other people who are going through the same thing makes you feel SO much better.
4. Danish lessons. I love them! I pay out on my poor Danish teacher but he laughs at our attempts to speak with a Danish accent so it all balances out. And when you're not the only one who gets excited over being able to say "classroom 11" and "green floor" everything is peachy.
5. Pre-party before the fest on Friday was fun and the girls kindly made sure I felt included so mange tak to you all x
6. The actual party. While I did enjoy dancing next to computers, spongebob, a big hippo and a few drunken sailors it's obviously a lot more interesting when you're drunk yourself. I can see how being the designated driver sucks.
7. MUSIC CLASS. They have about 20 single mattresses hidden in the store room and they take them out every now and then to lie on them and "feel the music". Someone show this to Mr. Watters because we don't need a baritone saxophone. We need 20 mattresses asap. Oh and you'd be glad to know (Mr.Watters) that i'm joining the choir to keep in touch with my musical side and not because they're going to Prague at the end of March :)
8. I spent Sunday with my contact family (second family to support me I suppose) and I absolutely loved them! They took me sledding and we had lunch and then we went and visited their Mormor (mum's mum) for coffee and bicuits. This made me homesick for the first time in a whole month since I usually do that with my Grandma. I was also quite jelly when the daughter got to give her Dad a hug :'( But overall, I had an amazing day and appreciated such good company.
9. There is a Valentines thingy on Tuesday and while I actually have no idea what we're doing I can only imagine it will be very interesting and memorable. And I choo choo chose Steph Stankiewicz to be valentine :) hahaha oh best friends are marvelous!
10. I can't think of any more at the moment but as soon as I publish this I bet 20 memories will spring to my mind. Oh well, more stuff for next time.
11. Favourite quotes of the week.
"Eat up because you never know when you'll have your next meal."
AND
"s*** happens."
12. Oh and apparently some of the teachers may end up reading this. Hello there! I actually feel lazy not doing any work but don't hold that against me when I get back. That history assignment sounds fantasic i'm sorry I missed it.
Until we meet again....... x
