This morning we woke up and MB packed her bags. Neatly stacked on the bed was a healthy reminder that soon her part of this amazing adventure is going to come to a close. When the sunset came around it was actually non exsistant. We headed to sunset cliffs anyway which is right next to old beach. This is an area where people come specifically to see the sunset it has a bunch of erroded coast that is red in color which i am sure pulls the red right out of the sky. This morning we woke up and played with Trenton. He has grown so much! He is a real person now. Independent, opinionate, and a smart ass just like his mother. MB and I went to the bike shop near by to get her bike fixed for Jason's return trip. We then headed to the San Diego Zoo. It is a very nice Zoo. Clean, but expensive. Over $40 per person. As we made our way out of the mountains and down to what my friend Kate calls the Armpit of america, Barstow california we watched the temperature climb to 113 degrees. We then went to check out Panoramic Point which overlooks the entire canyon. From here you can see Mt. Whitney which is the highest point in the Lower 48. We took a hike out the ridge for few miles and looped back on a forest road. The trail was desert and dusty but it was so nice to be able to hike and only see two other people for a change. We headed back to the car, set the GPS to San Diego and said our good byes to the mountains for a few.
