We were advised to check out Fern Canyon while we were in the park and I am glad we did. This is an entire canyon outfitted with foot bridges where the walls are covered with thick ferns from end to end. It felt like you could be picked off by a teroadactyl at any moment and for good reason, parts of Jurassic Park 2 were filmed here.
On the way back I decided against MB's wishes that we were going to poach a hiking trail that went through the redwoods called the Miner's trial. Although not many words were exchanged during this 7 mile ride I am glad we did it. We took heed to the fact it was a hiking trail and were very careful not to uproot anything, or skid on the downhills. It was a great trail that bench cut the natural terrain as we worked through the redwoods and over the ridge to the opposite side. We both were covertly devising strategies incase we were busted on the trail, but we had no need. We didn't see a soul on it.
After we finished our ride and put the bikes on the car we headed south to our bed and breakfast in Sonoma. We cut through Eureka, CA and over to the coast for our drive into Cloverdale.
Listening to club music as the road twisted and turned like singletrack for Subey we created forever memoires for the song 'Stereo Love'. Arriving at the B&B around 12:30 am we were greated by the owner and given a quick tour and sent to our rooms. Awaiting us was a bottle of wine (2004 Cab), and a note addressed to the both of us on our bedstand next to our single bed. The owners assumed we were a couple :)
