Our Sunday began with a sleep in (yay!) followed by Mitch giving daddy his UK Father's Day pressie (a hoodie from The Gap - great taste Mitch). So yep, that's right, Chris will get 2 father's days this year :)
To continue the celebrations, Bernie put on a feast (I contributed something that only slightly resembled my standard Tolmie potato bake with chicken noodle soup - must have been alright though because I still had seconds) and invited the Noutches, Manns and Cath & Rob (hmm, don't know their last name).
Was great to see Simon again and to meet his wife Alex and daughters Isabelle (bernie's god-daughter and the most delightful 10yr old i've ever met) and Marina (a savvy little 4yr old who was actually born 10 weeks early - Alex and I swapped many stories!)
It was a cheery summer arvo sitting out in Bernie's backyard, which flowed on long into the evening. Naturally that led to more empty bottles (despite many attempts otherwise, it was milk only for Mitch) and a classic Noutch/Gane inspired debate over politics, healthcare and education.
Jury is still out on who actually won, but it's safe to say that the neighbours should consider themselves lucky to have been within definite hearing distance of at least 1, potentially 8, future world leaders!
