On our way to the Da Vinci Exhibition at the Queen's Galleries we happened upon the changing of the guard as luck would have it! Again our surprise at the crowd at this occasion which happens most days a week. We got a bit of a view and then went on to our destination nearby. While waiting for our turn at the exhibition we found a nearby pub and had lunch-so wanting a ploughman's but not really getting what we hoped for!! My first half a lager tho for a while.
The Da Vinci exhibition was very awe inspiring to see the actual pages on which he wrote and the intricate drawings juxtaposed with the accurate anatomical drawings. He got it right on most occasions! He worked out how the aortic valve works (which seems to me something like quantum physics) among other things just from dissecting corpses. Sadly his work was not published and remained hidden away for centuries after his death. He would otherwise have been the first to publish a comprehensive text on the anatomy of the human body.
