today i spent about 11 hours in the car with Jeff, one of the drivers. we went to the Mukutan Retreat and Makena's Hills Lodge as well as to Kinamba, the nearest town. the mukutan retreat lodge is small with only 3 cottages and absolutely beautiful overlooking the gorge. there are also hot springs down in the gorge where i went for a quick dip! it's like a microclimate down there, it looks like a rainforest. Makena's Hills Lodge is a bit bigger with 6 tents with fantastic views across to Lake Baringo and both have swimming pools. Kinamba is a busy little town with not much there! we were just picking up things like wood etc.
