For a our day and a half off I went with Danielle, Melissa and Ciara to get a pedicure to treat ourselves! It was such a relaxing couple of hours! We then went to stop and shop (basically a supermarket) to get a couple of things I need for my trek since this was my last opportunity before I left. Later that night we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner to celebrate siobhan and Ciara's birthdays. It was amazing. I've never eaten so much food. Having the choice of what to eat was second best to being cooked great food in New Jersey! Thankfully I only have one more week of camp food before I'm left to fend for myself for 4 weeks and get to have more choice with what I eat! No more taco Tuesday's or cookout Wednesday's!!! Yay!!
On the Saturday we all chilled and I booked everything I needed to for my travelling. Anyone who knows me knows that I like to be super organised and I'm not very good and just "winging it" so this has put my mind at ease! I also made a start at sorting all my stuff out and getting things together to pack. It feels like I'm packing to come home but it's the next step in my adventure! Whilst I'm nervous to go by myself I'm also really excited! On Saturday evening we went to an ice cream place. It was like a little hut with benches outside to eat at but it was amazing!! I had 'muddy hooves' (vanilla with caramel swirl and brownie pieces) with hot fudge and strawberries. So good!!
Our new and last session started on Sunday. Again, we didn't have that many campers so it's another relaxing week although a slightly louder week as the campers are much more vocal in one way or another! We had our last campfire, our last hemlocks hoops and final dance and talent show night along with my final sports and archery sessions, (it's safe to say I'd do pretty well against katniss everdeen as I'm not bad at archery now!) and our final pool party of camp.
We finished off camp with a big party with all the staff. Jen, our camp director had got chipotle to cater for our little party. It's Mexican - it was so good!! We were all given little bags with chocolate and coffee in it as a little thank you and seen as a survival kit for the 9 weeks at camp and we also got our camp hoodies that we ordered. Our final treat was each of us having a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's to ourselves. I've never seen so many different flavours! We all got some final pictures together then when we were alone we had our own party! We played beer pong (feeling very American!) and me and Danielle are amazing at! Although, being aware of our 9.30am pick up time the next day I didn't go too crazy!
My 9 weeks at camp is over. I'm so sad for it to come to an end as although it's been really challenging, I've loved every minute of it. I've made an amazing group of friends, without which, camp wouldn't be the same but I'm ready to travel America for 4 weeks for the last part of my 3 months away. I'm incredibly excited for this part but a part of me can't wait to get on that plane in San Francisco to come home. I'll be making the most of everything though!
I'm now just about to leave to get the bus from Hartford to Boston for a few days! Travelling really starts now!
