Saturday : Overcast
Left the flat mid morning today and headed east on foot to the catacombs. We tried to go into them last time we were here but we just missed the last tour. It didn't look like we would be able to go in this time either, because the line was huge!
Never mind we did the same thing as last time we couldn't get in, we went to Oz pub across the street and grabbed a couple beers. We watched the line to see if it was moving over a couple beers, to see if it was worth jumping in or to come up with a new plan. It hadn't moved in almost an hour, so we thought that we would walk to the Seine river, then follow it home.
Along the way to the river we stopped off at three patisseries and picked up a number of different yum yums to have down by Notre dame cathedral.
After lunch we had a good stroll along the river under all the bridges, looking up at all the fantastic looking buildings. The pathway along the river is really wide too, so you don't have to dodge people like you do on the footpath above. There is an area like south bank in London too, with cafes and bars and artwork displays. Lots of areas for the kids to play as well.
We took a left at the fancy Pont Alexandre III bridge and headed down to the war museum then past the tower home.
We had a bit of a rest for a couple hours before we got ready and took the metro to Moulin Rouge. We got seated and then had a delicious bottle of champagne from Reims. We are going to be staying right next to Reims in Epernay, in the next few days. So I'm looking forward to more of that tasty champas!
The show was great, lots of colourful outfits and good dancers. Kim loved it! They had some great acrobatic intermission performances which were my favorite. Singing and dancing aren't usually my type of thing, but yes I enjoyed the show we had a fun night, I'm glad we went.
