Wednesday : Sunny
No sleep in today, we were up early and the first down to breakfast, then we were out the door. Being the first to a buffet is like leaving your footprints in the sand at a deserted beach. We walked down towards the main train station in the sun, and found the airport express bus to the airport. It wasn't very express though, because of road works it was almost an hour on a very hot stuffy bus.
We had a bit of a wait before we could checkin, the gate opened just under two hours before departure. We had a very nice bloke check us in though, he let the charge for being 8kgs over weight slide. Awesome! The bags not us!
Awesome was pretty much what Prague was, we had a great time. Its another pretty city and the people are very friendly. There is an abundance of English, maybe even more than Germany. Good food and drinks, and its really really cheap. Cheapest place in Europe that we have been to so far. Maybe its the hotel and cheap booze talking but I really liked this city, it could be less busy I suppose, maybe in the colder months it probably is, and that's when I would like to come back, one day.
We were an hour late arriving in Paris because we had a delay on the runway for an hour. So we had to call the landlord and tell her that we are going to be a little late picking up the keys.
We took the airport express bus to Paris opera metro station, and from there it was only 6 stations until we got to the flat. The owner was waiting out front and let us in. It's definitely not as big as the hotel in Prague. It's a cupboard with a kitchen and bathroom and we sleep on a platform above them, but it's comfy and should do just fine. It's so close to the Eiffel Tower you can see most of the tip from the front door! If the the place gets too cramped we can stretch out in the park near the tower. I'm sure we will be doing that for most of our time here regardless of how big the place was anyway. It feels good to be back in Paris and not have to rush around and try to see everything again. Just enjoy the city.
That's pretty much what we did for the rest of the evening too, we just sat in the park and watched the sun set behind the tower. We also watched all the fellas selling wine, champagne or cigarettes to people in the park and then split when the coppers came. The sparkly lights came on at 9pm, I remember them last time I was here staying on for longer than 5mins though.
We left the park when it started to get dark and headed back to a grocery store near the flat to pickup some more food, wine and some breakfast.
