43/4 (sic)
After weeks of negotiations, I can now reveal that I am coming back to the UK early. I am due to fly back on 23 August. This is 5 weeks earlier than originally planned, but i am being treated as if I have done the full 12 months. The timing is important and there are lots of factors involved, such as:
Number one: it would be good to back around the time that Kirsty is expected to give birth to my new niece.
Number two: I am not enjoying the hot and humid summer here. It's fine if you are on the beach, but not to work in, and not to get to work in.
Number three: It means that Garry can replace me for 7 weeks (the length of time i will be back for) and I can return to teach at the same place, with the same classes and even return to the same flat in October. I need only pack an overnight bag for my return flight.
Number four: I am a little tired and demotivated at work and I could do with a break now.
So, I will be back in UK for late summer... and return to Korea just in time for the more pleasant Autumn (Fall).
Although 7 weeks is shorter than originally wanted, it is enough time to do the things I need to do and have some quality time with family and friends... and have one or two sessions at the Corner House!
That's it for over a week now.. as i am off to dodge earthquakes in Japan. The next blog will possibly be longer and more interesting....
Bye for now.........
Phil.
