30/22 weeks
First up, an apology.
To those that care about and do still read my blog, i am sorry for giving anyone the impression that I was getting married. Seems like I have underestimated the power of the written word. If you knew me well, then you would realise that I wouldn't announce something like that, the way I did - just one line. It was casual, flippant and off-hand. In my defence, I never said I was actually getting married, just that I proposed and someone said yes.. it was said in jest, it just didn't look like that on the page, apparently. I couldn't get married yesterday anyway, because i had a cold and she had to work in the afternoon. I did mention 'crying wolf' just before.. so i guess that if and when i do actually get engaged, then nobody will believe me, and, as the story goes, all my sheep will get eaten! Anyway, this is my flawed attempt at an apology. No hard feelings, eh? I have a learnt a lesson about communication... i should think about the reader more when i write.
I take it by the fact you are still reading this, that you have forgiven me already or are, at least, thinking about it. The whole announcement thing was just to provoke a reaction, but no-one reacted, so i thought everyone had swtiched off.
Anyway, I have completed 30 weeks and I am sure the next 22 will fly by (no joke). I am definitely going to Japan in late July, having booked the extra days I need off work and visited Immigration in Masan, which I did early on Tuesday, with Garry.
I had some acupuncture (a few pins and a gauze on my abdomen) this morning in an attempt to tackle the issue of stomach cramps i get when i feel i stressed. The symptons arise in a stressful situation. I sometimes got it at the Corner House and occasionally I suffer from it at the hakwon, and others have tried it for their own conditions and it has worked. Anyway, I am now on some new medication, which looks like dirty sea water, and I have 3 more sessions to go.
Update from Holly's Coffe, in Busan.
I read with interest that Norwich FC are safe for this season. Went to book my hydrofoil ferry ticket to Fukuoka, Japan today but was too early. Not going to miss out this time, however, and will purchase a ticket by phone on Thursday.
Further update from Vesta Spa.
Visited Jagalchi Fish Market, where there was plenty of whale on sale, before heading over to the other side of Haeundae Beach and the Vesta Spa, where you can stand in the buff overlooking the city and the beach, the most famous in all of Korea. The ideal way to try to shake off yet another cold, which i developed on Friday. It's actually grey here today, but it will be fantastic in the summer. I am now considering Busan as a place to work, instead of Seoul.
Talking of the capital, next weekend I will be returning to Seoul. I am not going to say why, or who with, and I am definitely not going to make any announcements, either. Suffice to say it is yet another date... so you can't knock me for effort. I will mention that Anna Jeon, the contact who arranged my placement, has asked me to make a video for her own website, telling the world about the benefits of teaching in Korea. I have started making that today.
Love you all,
Phil.x.
