So, Christmas Day in Changwon was spent filming a video for an Arcade Fire song. Garry Roffe was my camera or, as he likes to call himself, standby wardrobe. It was one of the more enjoyable Christmas Days, quite different from this time last year - which was probably the most amazing. Doing something I really enjoy - filming. Only bettered by the Editing Process, which comes after.
Anyway, the video, which comes with a warning, is now online (you know where to look). The warning is for those that a particularly sensitive religious outlook. The song is not deliberately meant to suggest that I am the Antichrist - they are not my lyrics - but is a reference, i believe, to
an evangelical preacher, who uses his 13 year old daughter to perpetuate the great things that he (not the Holy Father) does or might do. I remain agnostic... and this video should be open to much interpretation (and I am sure it will be).
Managed to speak to Dad, suffering from tenant agro, and Mum and the rest of the family via Skype. Also caught up with Andy and Becky, calling from Attleborough.
My Christmas Dinner consisted of a Seafood Pizza at Mr Pizza, with obligatory side salad, including Lychees. I was stuffed - it's a Christmas Tradition. Now, where
have I heard that recently?
It didn't snow - but then it never does snow for real on Christmas Day, does it? Hmmm, who else thought that?
Had to work full days either side of Christmas Day, which was OK - the kids had more energy than usual because School has finished for a month. Played a few games and generally everyone, including myself, were in good spirits.
Finally, got a haircut this morning at the Jimjimbang. Plans to go to Seoul were first scuppered by Monica and Jimmy
- one had a job interview and the other had to work. Then Gary decided not to go
as his brother (not really his brother) elected to go to Pusan for New Year, instead of Seoul.
But, then, today, Monica decided that she would join me on the bus to the capital and stay for one night.
Her friend will be waiting for me at number 5 gate, city hall subway station, 2pm, Saturday. I will be the one with two English-Korean Phrasebooks!
So, Monica will be my companion again - would rather have Astrid Peth - but she is a fictional character and not a TARDIS part after all. 13 million viewers, in the UK, apparently! Oh yes, I saw Voyage of the Damned, today. A piece of fluffy, 2 dimensional candy-floss... still, great, though.
Anyway, next stop Seoul. Back on Tuesday... i won't be at home, on skype but may be able to check the internet for messages. So, until 2008, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PXX
Hang on, 3 days in Seoul... ? Seoul 3....? Sol 3 ! It's the other name for the Earth in Doctor Who!!!
Isn't it?
