And so the time had arrived. We got booked into a hostel in queenstown and headed straight to town to book the bungy. They gave us a couple of free shots when we booked it in the world bar upstairs, so we did them to kill the never and headed back to the hostel resisting temptation to go out even though there was a beer pong world cup taking place in the hostel. We some how managed to get to sleep with all the noise continuing on into the early hours and the nerves of tomorrows activity hanging over us. When we woke we both had a laugh to each other when we realised what we were actually doing in a couple of hours time. So we packed up and got ourselves to town to get it started. We got weighted in and jumped in the van and they drive us to the jump site. The night didn't really sink in until we were about to get into the cable car which took us out to the suspended cart which we jumped from. It really started to get real at this point and after watching the first few people do it, it was our turn. I was up first and after a quick countdown I was screaming like a girl on my way down before I knew it. After being pulled back up upside down as i couldn't pull the chord correctly to position myself in the seated position I was glad to be back up. Neil then had the pressure built for his jump after seeing me manage it and going last was a long wait. However it seemed to not faze him and he had the quick countdown 3.2.1 and he was away. He also managed the chord pull and arrived safely back at the top all smiles from what he just achieved. We were both ecstatic the we had manage to jump, our biggest fear being unable to go through with it last minute over ruled all the other fears. We took the cable cart back over and collected our free t-shirts, DVD and photos then headed back down to town still amazed at the experience of the 134 meter fall. Our plan was to get up to the island ASAP from this point as we had now done erupting we wanted to do in the south island. So a long drive up the island was next in the agenda and we wasted no time in getting back on the road, after a burger king of course.
