After dropping Rytch off me Ian and Claude headed to Lake Tepako which was pretty much half way to Queenstown. Arriving at night we booked into a dorm with a couple Irish chicks and an Essex chick. Knackered from the drive we fell asleep pretty much straight away. The next Morning after having a look at the lake at ground level we drove up to Mt John to see one of the best views I've ever seen. Mountains and two beautiful lakes. Lake Tepako was a glowing turquoise, definitely worth the stay here just to see that. Slightly annoying that it was cloudy but still amazing. Meeting Rahel in the hostel we played some mini golf, played some drinking games And went to a closed pub. Morning after, checked out and were on our way to Queenstown with a quick 2 hour side track to mount cook which is the biggest mountain in New Zealand, slightly disappointing tho due to the clouds again so couldn't see the peak.
