We arrived at Nelson hearing good things about a particular hostel from John. However after inspection we decided to stay at one up the road called Tasman bay. We dropped our stuff in and took a quick look round the town. It didn't take long before we were back in the hostel a little disappointed that there wasn't much to be seen. However on a big plus the hostel we were in served free chocolate pudding in the evening so we took full advantage of this. John then arrived with some beers he got us to say thanks for the lift, needless to say they didn't last long. During our time in Nelson we were trying to find some vineyard work in the area and something had come available in a nearby town call Blenheim. We decided to just leave it at the one night in Nelson and try our luck the following day in Blenheim. We woke the next day said our goodbyes and headed on leaving John in Nelson who ha booked back in at his favourite hostel for a week.
