I met a wonderful couple who live in Yuma. Retired teachers with several grandchildren and a great Dane. We discussed everything kids, grandkids, aches and pains, and family. The Alamo is just across the street from my hotel. Of course I had to read the history before going in. I did know that all were killed in the battle and that it became a rallying cry for Texas to break free from Mexico. I did not know that there were women and children in one part of the building while the battle raged on.
