I met a wonderful couple who live in Yuma. Retired teachers with several grandchildren and a great Dane. We discussed everything kids, grandkids, aches and pains, and family. One of those couples you just know have always loved and taken care of each other. They discussed a sister who was an alcoholic. The sister had three sons but they had become tired of the chronic drinking and they were estranged. They brought her to Yuma and got her in a rehab. She got sober and had a job but did not drive. One night she got home and was on her way to a store when, they believe, she accidentally walked in front of a truck and was killed. This couple had done everything they could for her but still felt guilt that they were not with her that night. They lived with the if only I had called, driven her, been there. After a lifetime of chronic drinking the sis had put things together and in one moment she was gone. We just do not know what the next day brings.
