Brooklyn, New York Nov 6, 2015 Final evening in New York we spent watching the Lakers versus the Nets. Kobe Bryant is a hit even on New York turf. It was fun, the Lakers won, and the seats were pretty good.
Brooklyn, New York Nov 6, 2015 My final day in New York we spent walking taking in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and Prospect Park. Starting to feel a little tired as the soles of my shoes are worn down I can feel everything under my feet. These shoes will be retired once I make it home.
Manhattan, New York Nov 5, 2015 One World Trade Center is 102 floors tall with a full observation deck on the 100th floor. The views of New York from this deck are spectacular. I do not believe there is a better view anywhere. The Museum informs us as to what happened and reminds us of the terrible loss, the plaza is a quiet place to reflect and to honor, a place of worship, and One World Trade Center represents rising from the ashes and soaring onward.
Manhattan, New York Nov 5, 2015 Memorial Plaza marks the footprint of our lost towers with a kind of serenity. The water falling is soothing even as it disappears below. This is a great testimony to all those who lost their lives, survived the events, and all of New York who suffered so tragically. It is a kind of outdoor place of worship and one I think people will admire and appreciate for a very long time.
Manhattan, New York Nov 5, 2015 The 911 Museum, to me, is a horrific reminder of the devastation of those days. It is crushing to remember that morning and the events as they occurred. One room is filled with pictures of all those who perished. The emotions are over whelming. I cannot imagine what it is like for those who lived it and loss loved ones.
